Concrete Wall - mounted GPs

Related Ideas

-Tube Wall

Description

The fact that microwaves and similar weapons can't shoot over walls makes them a poor defensive measure.  My primary complaint about GPs is either they're in front of the walls and getting annihilated before anything happens, or theyre' behind the walls, where they can't shoot at enemies until the wall is down.  But suppose you can build GPs on top of this concrete wall, shooting down at the enemy?  This would enable you to use GPs as good defenses without compromising their ability to fire.

The walls seem to be a trapazoidal shape i dont think you could set one on top.  Unless your talking about makin a giant riser for the GP to sit on behind the wall.

Brilliant!  And quite realistic too.  Another option is to have GP be tall enough to shoot over walls, but I think this would look much more cool in game.

Wasn't there an OP2 hack that did this?
Maybe that attached GPs to buildings...
I forget! I only saw a picture of it somewhere.

bomber, you probably saw the OP2 modification ideas pics that just about every fansite had (the Divine Order (lev abandond us and we died, lol) had the largest collection).  There were 2 pics, that have been mentioned in this thread now (directly and indirectly): Gaurdpost walls and building turrets.

hmm, I like this idea. What about supernovas? LOL. That wouldn't be pretty... or.... you could chain them together like fireworks and as the enemies come up, they blow up ^_^.

Stormy i havent seen any one ever build a nova or flare GP EVER.  This is a nice idea and it reminds me alot of some real life pictures of WW2.

I really dont care for the mounted GPs... why not just build them on the ground? We don't want this to get too much like C&C...

Ok. Any other reasons not to have this? I think it sounds great and if no one objects we should start to skin that picture or anther one that will be used.
