Colony Game Pack 1 Hard Version!

I have remade the 2 colony games I posted and made them much harder.  I should have a release of the harder version of the first pack. Up at no later then next wednesday

I would not add anything that would end the game for the player. Like the blight or Vortexes that would not go away. Its going to be hard but not unbeatable

more meteors then in all of the other colony games and they are competely random  ;) and then if I get the code to do it, You will see vortexes that could appear anywere on the map at random times  B)
maybe earthquakes and storms but I have not tried adding them yet

do you have the size of the metiers being random as well, or is it just raining down eather large or small ones?

if I set it to a size 5 it will throw out anything from a 1 too a 5 so I don't have any control of the size of the meteor. So yes it is random

ive only seen small and large ones, i didnt know that they had inbetween

Yea I knew that could be done but  I didn't know how it was done  :unsure:  otherwise I would have made it that way

a little sneak peek at how my first test went  :P

I started out by sending my units to build a colony. Note: I am playing at speed 1
now I will jump to where I have all the buildings up,  I have only lost 2 units to meteors so far.  So I start mining and when I had enough ore, I started building a second CC.
I got the CC loaded on a Convec, ordering it to go to a spot in the corner. "The least likely spot to get hit by meteors"
And just after the Convec moves 5 tiles away. My CC and Structure factory get hit with a meteor, Nearly destorying my Factory.
So to jump ahead to the end. "I've lost about half of my units by now"
I see a vortex form just next to my mine. And that ended my ability to win. By cutting my ore supply  <_<

There is a function on the Player class that returns the difficulty setting for that player. (Player.Difficulty() I think). It should be a value from 0-2 if I remember correctly. You can just use this to determine which difficulty setting to select internally. Usually, there is a switch statement, or a few if statements that setup initial resources based on the difficulty. Then there might also be extra disaster triggers that get setup for harder difficulty settings.

Something along the lines of:

To make any map you need to do at least a little bit of coding. Of course, multiplayer maps won't necissarily be utilizing the difficulty settings so chances are that the difficulty code can be left out of the map's DLL file.

Well, none of the dynamix made ones do insofar as combat being necessary to win the mission.

Yes, I know, in Colony Builder 2 you can go pound the Eden base if you want.. but it won't help you win.
