Buld insanely thick walls around your base, then start building your army when the enemy is trying to get through. (I do that alot)

you have to totally block the edge where it spawns the units.

I know, you could do it the (evil) way, by hacking into the game's memory and killing off the Pinwheel.

(call Pinwheel::~Pinwheel() to kill the AI pinwheel. Maybe kill the attackgroups too. And triggers.)

Play one of the colony games and find out where the enemey builds tubes, then play the game and build walls in those spots.

send in starflares to blow up buildings that they are making, if you do it early enough, 1 starflare can blow up a cc
