Ok Problem Solved For G-line
« on: July 18, 2005, 05:33:47 PM »
The only way to solve this problem If you have this problem is to get a new client.  Now here are there the two I found that work the best.

http://www.pirch.com/software.html  Go there get Pirch98 or you can use the older ICR client on the OPU site http://outpostuniverse.net/files/OPUIRC.rar.

Remember If your still G-lined with Quakenet let it reconnect serveral time and youll eventually get in

Now Quakenet is not in Pirch so all you have to do is add a server.

First youll see the networks you can join just Type in or copy and paste Quakenet.

Then the box right next to that one is the server name box 217.75.98.138:6667;Quakenet copy and paste that.

in the lower left hand corner is the nick box.

Now if you have to Auth and stuff like that automaticly.  You click on options then Autoexec Commands (Basicly the Perform on the MIRC)  Add what you need.  To auth Add /msg Q auth username and password  .  If you dont know this you can request the password to be sent to you email.  /msg Q requestpassword youremail youremail in the status window (the very first window).   To get +x type in /mode <yourcurrent nick> +x.

that should set you up for use with pirch any question just ask.

suffice it to say (without using the f-word) .. things sometimes goo offline on the internet:
the chat host
the opu forum
.. what not .. ?

just leave it at that, use the backup-server if you can't connect to quakenet, and let's all hope for a better server for everything.

We are not switching servers as of this moment. If you are having trouble with qnet, you can try Joe's server (or whatever other solutions you can find). I'm guessing most people are having problems due to the lack of attendance on IRC. For now, Joe's server is considered the official backup. If we have to, we will switch the main server, but I think we should at least wait for Lev to get back before trying to make any big permanent changes.

Thx Hooman.

We have actualy allways had #Outpost2 on Undernet IRC Network as the backup channel, it was used when there were net-splits etc. The bot used to be there but the channel stop geting used.

We will allways stay on QuakeNet as its the bigest irc network, havin our own server with our own control and were able to make it like we like aint rly worth it just to have our own server and be seprated. Im sure everything we wanna do can be done on QuakeNet, thats what Bot is for.

Also maybe in future we can place bots in #Outpost2 on a major irc networks to point people to our channel.
