Title: Vol extractor for extractimg unit sounds
Post by: Zhall on May 18, 2018, 08:31:44 AM: Hey I'm wondering where to get the vol extractor to extract all of the unit sounds for the game?

I had it back in the day but now it escapes me XD

You have 3 choices for extracting these days. Check the links below for where you can download them and read up on them.

My personal favorite but you will have to use the command prompt (console): https://github.com/OutpostUniverse/OP2Archive/releases

The dedicated GUI for extracting that I think you are referring to (You may have to manually install some DLLs to use since it is older): https://wiki.outpost2.net/doku.php?id=outpost_2:helper_programs:vol_extractor

The mapper can also extract vols: https://wiki.outpost2.net/doku.php?id=outpost_2:helper_programs:mapper. Check out the release notes for Outpost 2 1.3.7 for a couple of details on how to get the mapper to work better with the newest Outpost 2 release. There are some minor bugs that will crash the mapper sometimes with working with vol files, but you can find ways around them.
