Happy New Year everybody!
2016 was kind of a wild ride eh? A LOT of stuff happened, both good and bad, around the world, enough for everybody to complain how it was the worst year ever.
While some people had a crappy year, we had a great year at The Outpost Universe! 2016 saw the reemergence of OPU, a much needed website overhaul, better integration between the website, forums and wiki, a lot of code development and interesting discussion. New members have joined, veterans have returned -- overall it's been a great year.
Here's to another great year at OPU!

Haha, well as long as I can play classic retro games, both in Dos via DOSBOX and Windows like OP2 and such, It will always be a good year, regardless of the ups and downs of life.
Its nice when you have a retro day and are able to waste a few hours and play a classic, like OP2 and struggle against the CPU in the Campaign Missions.
I'm both happy and sad. Lol. Happy this game is still playable to this day on a modern machine and still has support and a fan-base, but also sad at the demise of Sierra, to never see the map editor we were promised see the light of day, and that we didn't have countless campaigns come out for this game.
ie. Doom being the biggest example, so many custom wads and completed scenarios its constantly a NEW EPISODE when you play classic DOOM. I'm happy to have a few single player missions, its better then nothing :).
Too bad Outpost Renegades was never finished. I remembered playing the first 2 scenarios and it was quite fun and amusing.
Oh I also enjoy COLD WAR as a fav COLONY GAME. It's so easy to get schooled by the AI in that level. God is it hard.
Have a good one all!
