Title: New Map Sandy Valley (128x128 tiles)
Post by: Vagabond on March 27, 2016, 12:32:15 PM
Hey everyone,

I finished a new map. It is designed for an evacuation scenario I’m mostly done with. The map is sufficiently different from the stock Dynamix map it started as so I’m affectionately naming it Sandy Valley. If anyone else wants to steal it for their own projects or modify, feel free. Please just rename the file if you are modifying and distributing it so it won’t overwrite the version I’m using.

128 x 128 tiles with stock tile sets.

Picture of map and map file are attached. You must be logged into the forum to see either.

Also Happy Easter 2016!

Hmm, nice. What's the stock map it was based on?

Three's A Crowd (mp3_08.map), one of the rare stock maps that is playable under any multiplayer game mode.

There's also a 256x256 version of that map called Olympus Mons.

Sirbomber is correct! Three's a crowd was the base map. I was actually first considering modifying Olympus Mons, but it has 4 times as many tiles to worry about as Three's a crowd. For a shorter scenario, I didn't think the map needed to be so big (and it would have taken a lot longer to edit!).

For comparison:

Three's A Crowd

Well then, let's take a look at an image diff to see what you changed.  :)
