I don't have a name for it but I do have a map.
Based off the La Corrida map with a large rise in the middle, and allowing for side base sneak attacks, it allows a much larger freedom of motion than most.
Go ahead, download and enjoy!
(P.S.) This can work really well for a "king of the hill" Style game that I am working on. I'm just fumbling my way around the triggers now. Basically I'm going to set a timer that records how much time the player has been on the hill with AT LEAST 1 unit. The more Units, the easier to defend, and no matter what your init units setting is, you ALL (regardless of Colony) get a Laser Tiger to start with.
EDIT: Updated, all tiletypes are "proper" as in all cliffs are CH2

EDIT: Added HILL! and fixed the terrain type and travel items (like Fast Passable 1/2 and things)

You didnt really give the name of it, so I assumed it was "4 Player LoS, 'Modded Tiger' map". If it is that map, it's broken, cause I win right away.

nonononononononoo..
Its a new MAP file, not a mission file.
-
oh... take a screeny then :D
-
*facepalm* I forgot the change the tiletypes for the cliffs being removed..
RAAAAAH!!
-
Hmm... i'll see is i can make use of this. however, i STRONGLY recommend you make a mission for this as otherwise it is just a memory hog in the op2 folder
-
At a few kbs, the size doesnt really matter. Thou, I think Team La Corridor is really close to this...
-
Did you not READ ECC???
I mean come awn, I just said, I'm looking through functions to try and do a king of the hill map.. sheesh!
-
i read it... then promptly mixed it with one of your dozen other topics
-
*facepalm*
ANYWAY
This is a new map, USE IT. We might be able to rewrite the La Cor mission with this (minus AI, or moving it)
-
There's really no point in rewriting an existing mission. If you want to play that mission, go play it. If you want to use the same mission logic on a different map, all you need is a hex editor.
Anyways, the idea of a King of the Hill map has been suggested many times before, but never implemented successfully. The closest we've ever got were the Zone Control maps that were part of the 1.3.3 update which, as you may notice, are not part of the 1.3.4/1.3.5 packages. This should tell you something about how well they worked. ;)
Regardless, I wish you the best of luck. It could be fun, if it works.

Thanks Sirbomber!
Quick Question... howed you get the percentage bars in your sig? I want to try to do that for this attempt at a mission.
-
It's just text with colors applied. They're also meaningless since:
1) I stopped working on that project ages ago; nobody was interested enough.
2) The values are all made up. Even the 100% stuff was subject to change.
-
well may it rest in peice.. er.. peices.
-
Let us know when it gets to a semi-playable state. If I have the time I'll give it a whirl.
-
uhhh when i clicked the download link... it kinda, well, it showed weird symbols in text... it opened in my browser asa new window...
is your map file corrupt? or is it the wrong file?
-
It isn't corrupt, as far as I know...
I can download it fine, so I don't know.
