Title: Lethal Warzone
Post by: Kayedon on May 26, 2010, 05:29:10 PM
Flash game, you can find it at http://goo.gl/V954 (http://goo.gl/V954)
Figured it's better to discuss here than the shoutbox.

First, let me state that there is nothing really similar to OP2. It's a flash knockoff of Command and Conquer, only way way worse (and the only good C&C games were the first ones).

First, the water is visibly tiled. Wtf?
Second, units move in a straight line and are too stupid to all follow an attack command, changing a line of 20 tanks into a one-at-a-time follow the leader game unless you manually move them all around. It's NOT that hard to give them pathfinding in Flash.

I haven't found any other complaints, other than the horrendous sound.
Overall, not a very special or noteworthy game.

EDIT: To continue my rant... animation is sub-par. All attacks come from the top-most corner of your unit, and half the time they won't face their target, meaning bullets come out of their ass and fly towards their target.
Enemies won't defend their base unless the unit itself is attacked.
Your guys often forget they were even told to shoot.

Being that earth was able to build the conestoga i imagen there military hardware was lightyears ahead of ours.  they did pull the laser lynx from the old earth database.

Um, what?  And what do newspapers have to do with anything?

Kayedon: Have you never fought Betaray's dreaded Single-File Lynx Line?  It is truly a force to be reckoned with.

I meant these single-file lines are especially bad. And I don't play Multiplayer, remember? :P

A séance (pronounced /ˈseɪ.ɑːns/) is an attempt to communicate with spirits.

I wasn't exactly sure what "op2 seance #1" means, I don't recall them attempting to communicate with spirits in the novellas, what exactly do you mean?

Just wait until you've got 10 big tanks and they roll at the enemy base... and you get blindsided and all your tanks turn into the immobile retards that inhabit every town in an RPG. "OH WE SUPPOSED TO DEFEND? WE THINK YOU DO THAT!"
So yeah, I was about to finish running over mission 3 (with 5 tanks, actually, because they feel like limiting you?!) when I got butt-raped by an AI that can flank, attack you, but can't remember who they're shooting.

@BlackBox: I do. "OH GOD NO THE BLIGHT PLEASE DEAD SAVANTS EAT THE OTHER COLONY."

I just used aircraft in mission 3.  Built up some defensive towers and kept them repaired, then built 8 airbases, all with the air-to-ground fighters, and killed off structures one by one, heh.

try getting far enough to build 30 units

My problem is how you can randomly turn on and off double production. Is there any penalty?
And also, I hate how slow resources come in. Games take too long of "wait for money" for my tastes.

i know... the only reason i like the game at all is the "hacked" version with the unlimited units

that would take the fun out of it for me, unit management is a pqart of strategy

one thing that helps is building the processong buildings, as they boost your resource income rate much more significantly than the oil wells do.

i found that strategy a long time ago. it helps also if you build alot of tech centers.= production speed. or is that what you said?

I don't bother with additional tech centers, everything builds as fast as I need it to.
