It has come to my attention that the IRC machine is down and looks like there may be a network problem or that it needs a physical reboot.
In the meantime, we have setup a temporary IRC server which may be accessed using the following command (in mIRC at least, probably others as well):
/server outpost2.net:6666
Or tell your IRC client to connect to server: outpost2.net port: 6666.
Since it is a backup IRC server, there will be no services available.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and hope that we can get the main IRC server up and running again soon.

The power is going to be out for a majority of the weekend where the IRC Server is hosted. I meant to annouce it, but it must've slipped my mind. It should be back up and running on Tuesday!

We still have the channel on QuakeNet. Makes more sence to fall back to that when we have outages like this.
-
There are so many reasons we should never, ever, ever go back to QuakeNet...
-
Care to elaborate?
I don't much like statements like that going unquestioned.

Things such as endless netsplits and idiots for ircops.

total lack of control over the channel to the point of some one ban spamming

never said go back, said use it temporary. easyer than seting up a 2nd server.

The 2nd server's already set up, so that's a moot point now.
Maybe we should link this backup server and the main one together, so when you try to connect to irc.outpost2.net while the main server's down you connect to the backup instead.

The main IRC server's (irc.outpost2.net) back up.
