If Hamachi has benefited you please post about it. If not then don't. This is for the purpose of having potential op2 players be convined to play, and even show the hamachi devs how it radically changed our community.
(Mods can you sticky this.)

Hamachi Let me play at any time I wanted to. Before that I use a phone line that wasnt mine. And then I could only use it late at night. Its Great i dont have to use the modem in my laptop and I can stay on my lan. RIDE THE HAM!!!!!!
-
Yeah, Hamachi has been my saving angel.
I used to play on WON when it existed, and shortly afterwards on tcp/ip.
However then I changed connection from ISDN to ADSL and I have been more or less unable to play for the past 4 years.
Thanx to Hamachi I'm back online though, enjoying my favourite game :D

In spring of 2004, I had come here, tried the port forwarding, tried every conceivable thing to play multiplayer but, to no avail.
Thanks to Hamachi, I now have the confidence to go out in the world! (Well, just kidding)
It has been great in allowing me to play online with other ppl in op2. Of course, if I can just find out how to get my wireless lan to stop cutting out... (As Freeza knows).

hamachi owns!
i can play op2, and many other games there ^_^

Used to be that I could only play TCP/IP with a small group of friends nearby. Kinda sucked 'cuz we all eventually learned eachother's patterns, which left a bunch of issues with games getting rather boring. Everyone was able to fend off everyone's attacks. Boring. Now that I've got hamachi - I can jump into games with people I haven't played, or only played once or twice. The challenge has returned. WOHOO!
-
Hamachi is awsome! (thumbsup) ive wanted to play op2 for soooo long (even though i suck) but haven't been able too woot!

It has been a blessing for me! I have a Cable Internet (RoadRunner) but my dad had blocked EVERY DAMNED port (for 'security' reasons...) meaning in short, no Outpost 2! It was still a fun community to talk and stuff in, but for me, it was a sad affair when I couldn't join in the games...
Until Hamachi...first versions sucked but recently it helped a lot!
I even discovered another use - playing Total Annihilation with friends!
Thanks for finding it guys...

Hamachi is easily one of the greatest, allbeit still beta, program I have come across for internet play over a LAN/NAT device. While I don't often play OP2, I use hamachi to allow me to play Age of Empires with my best friend... she kinda lives in Virginia right now which is a 7.5 hour drive for me so it's a little difficult to play online. Hamachi corrected that.
There are easily a few little things here and there but thus far, Hamachi has been a blessing. I would like to see it fully developed and in a stable Release state! :-)

Hamachi helps alot... it makes it really easy to set up games. :)
-
Since i wasn't able to set my router hamachi came to the rescue! :D
if it wasn't for hamachi i wouldn't be able to play OP2 with my friend or other ppl for that matter. GO HAMACHI! ^_^ (thumbsup)

I'm planning on using a ham network to set up games with at least 1 friend of mine, and possibly more friends of his. But OP2 is kinda hard to get somebody into, so who knows. At least I acn try.
And hamachi let's me beat up half of the people on OPU.
-
ham is great! i tryed it with some other game and its cool :)
-
HAM helped me play my first online OP game. However, most of the time, when I'm online, the ppl who are also online only want to use direct IP, and oftentimes don't even have HAM at all. If this were different, I could play a lot more. However, I have a firewall that I don't have control over, so HAM is the only way for me to play online. :/
-
Hamachi has benefited me GREATLY. Not only me, but it has benefited Op3 because we can make a render farm using hamachi  :D
stormy :op2:

Hamachi is the exact opposite of "beneficial" for me. It's messed up normal OP2 TCP/IP and now I'm Hamachi-dependant if I can't find a fix for this mess. :/
-
hamachi lets me play with ppl i normally wouldnt be able to. that alone makes it worth its filesize in gold.
Arklon: Hamachi creates its own network connection to function. when you start the program, it opens the virtual network connection. i once had issues like yours and what seemed to fix it was to delete the network connection (found under Network Connections in Windows XP) and reinstall hamachi. have you tried this yet? do you have the latest version of hamachi? are your drivers up to date?
-
I used it this weekend for the first time. Seems to work great. Also, played op2 with just the "network" option and that worked good.
Thanks you to those who set it up.
-
Hamachi helped me to play Outpost2. I have ADSL, so I don't want to trade it for 56k just to play Outpost2. Hamachi saved all.
-
It helped me. I can't play for some reason or another, but Hamachi allows me to play. :P
-
I can't even connect with Hamachi. It always says "Mediation Server has rejected your login request" what's this mean?
At least it gives me a sense of hope I'll be able to play one day...
-
Ham not only makes it possible to pay games through a shared router which has no open ports which op2 requires but it also make it easier to start the game sne i dont hav to remember an ip address to type in. Woot Woot for ham
-
Hamachi is great, i couldnt play until we found it and no wi play almost all the time! ALL HAIL HAMACHI
-
I have used Hamachi for multiplayer on op2; it is the only solution that has worked for me so far. It has an easy interface and downloading is a breeze. I've never had a problem with it. (thumbsup)

Hamachi is awesome who ever thought of it!

Hamachi kicks ass!!
